What Is Patient Context and How Does It Work in Echo-Health?
The Patient Context panel provides a real-time snapshot of important clinical information for a given patient. It supports accurate, context-aware documentation without requiring clinicians to re-type or repeat known medical history during the consult.
🔍 What Does It Show?
The panel displays:
-
Problems (diagnoses or active conditions)
-
Medications (active scripts and treatment)
-
Allergies (as recorded in the PMS)
-
Immunisations (where available)
-
Screening data (e.g. vitals, recent observations)
-
Free text notes (e.g. reason for visit, past history)
This information helps AI outputs remain clinically relevant and aligned with the patient’s record.
🔄 Where Does the Data Come From?
If Echo-Health.ai is integrated with your PMS (e.g. Medtech via ALEX), Patient Context data is automatically pulled at the start of the consult.
You can also click the 🔁 Refresh icon to manually sync the latest data from your PMS during the session.
If your practice is not integrated, Patient Context can still be entered manually.
✅ Why It Matters
-
Adds background context to the session without needing to speak or type it again
-
Ensures summaries, notes, and to-do lists reflect current treatment and history
-
Improves billing accuracy, documentation quality, and clinical safety
Even short consults benefit from rich patient context — and clicking Refresh ensures what’s recorded in the PMS matches your generated documentation.
