How do I create a new document template in Echo-Health.ai?

Echo-Health.ai makes it easy to create your own clinical or administrative document templates using the Document Generator tool. Templates are structured outlines used to produce letters or documents, such as referrals or discharge summaries, and can be reused by all clinicians in your organisation.

Step-by-step guide:

  1. Go to Document Template Settings

    • From the main menu, select TemplatesDocument Templates

    • Click Create New Template

  2. Enter Template Details

    • Add a Template Name (e.g., “Referral to Allied Health”)

    • Write your Prompt – this tells the AI how you want the document to be written
Example: “Create a formal referral letter for physiotherapy based on today’s consult.”

  3. Adjust AI Tone and Format (Optional)

    • Use dropdowns to set preferred tone (e.g., formal, conversational)

    • Choose layout options like Concise, Standard, or Detailed

  4. Add Document Headings

    • Enter custom headings like “Background”, “Clinical History”, or “Recommendations”

    • Click + New Document Heading to add more sections as needed

  5. Finalise the Template

    • Review your structure

    • Click Update Document to save it

    • The template is now available for use under Word Documents and can be linked to patient encounters via the Outbox

Tips for creating effective templates:

  • Use headings that match your clinical workflow

  • Keep prompts short and directive (e.g., "Write a GP handover with clinical context and follow-up plan")

  • Test the output and adjust tone and sections as needed

Templates are ideal for repeatable documentation where consistent structure matters, like specialist letters or reports.
