How SMS Credits Work in Echo-Health ?
Echo-Health.ai uses SMS credits to deliver structured summaries, to-do lists, and reminders directly to patients. Each outgoing SMS deducts one credit from your account. SMS functionality enhances patient engagement, ensures timely follow-ups, and supports medicolegal documentation.
✉️ What Is an SMS Credit?
An SMS credit represents a single message sent to a patient via mobile. Whether the SMS includes a to-do list, educational link, or clinical summary, it uses one credit.
Key notes:
-
1 SMS = 1 Credit
-
If a message exceeds 160 characters, it is still counted as one credit (due to carrier formatting).
-
Messages are sent using secure, encrypted transmission.
📊 When Are Credits Deducted?
Credits are deducted:
-
At the time the SMS is sent
-
Per patient message (not per item within a message)
If you draft a message but do not send it, no credit is deducted.
❓ Are Credits Refunded If SMS Fails?
No, SMS credits are deducted once the message is submitted to the carrier. Echo-Health.ai uses delivery confirmation from the provider but cannot refund failed messages unless it is a confirmed platform error.
⚠️ Failed SMS Delivery: What to Do
Some messages may not deliver due to:
-
Invalid or missing phone number
-
Recipient number blocked SMS from unknown senders
-
Network or carrier outage
💡 Troubleshooting Steps
-
Confirm the mobile number is correct and active
-
Ensure the number includes international code (+61 for AU, +64 for NZ)
-
If issues persist, contact support with the patient file number and timestamp
