How to edit a Prompt?

This article provides a step-by-step guide for editing an existing prompt in Echo-Health.ai. Editing prompts allows users to update clinical note templates to suit evolving workflows or requirements.

 

Steps to Edit a Prompt

  1. Go to the Prompts Page

    • From the main menu, select Edit or Create New Prompts to view all prompts available for your account or clinic.

  2. Find the Prompt You Wish to Edit

    • On the Prompts screen, prompts are listed in expandable sections under "Note Prompts".

  3. Click the Pencil Icon

    • Locate the prompt you want to update.

    • Click the pencil icon (🖉) at the top right of the prompt’s card.

    • This will open the Edit Prompt window.

  4. Edit the Prompt Content

    • In the Edit Prompt window, you can modify the text in the Prompt Content field.

    • Make any changes required, such as updating headings, instructions, or clinical sections.

  5. (Optional) Set as Default

    • To make this prompt the default, tick the Default checkbox.

  6. Save Changes

  7. Click + Update Prompt at the bottom of the window to save your changes.

  8. Exit

    • If you do not wish to save, click the X at the top right to close the window.


Tips

  • Always click the pencil icon to begin editing a prompt—other parts of the card are for viewing only.

  • Changes will take effect immediately for all future uses of that prompt.

  • If you do not see the pencil icon, you may not have permission to edit prompts; contact your administrator if needed.
