How do I use the Notes Section?

The Notes Page in Echo-Health.ai is your workspace for generating and editing structured clinical documentation. Whether you’re preparing SOAP notes, mental health progress updates, or a GP summary, Echo-Health.ai helps you streamline your writing while maintaining clinical accuracy.

🔹 Navigating the Notes Page

Access the Notes tab via the top navigation menu.

Here, you’ll see:

  • A Note Type Dropdown at the top left

  • A structured layout based on the selected format

  • Copy buttons beside each note section for easy pasting into PMS or correspondence

  • Optional checklist or export buttons (depending on note type)

🧾 Available Note Formats

Use the dropdown to select the appropriate format for the consult:

SOAP Notes

Structured for routine clinical documentation:

  • Subjective – Patient’s reported symptoms

  • Objective – Observed signs, vitals, test results

  • Assessment – Diagnosis and clinical interpretation

  • Plan – Next steps including treatment, review, referrals

Mental Health Notes

Ideal for counselling, therapy or mental health plan reviews:

  • Presenting Concern

  • Mood / Affect

  • Psychosocial Context

  • Interventions & Response

  • Plan / Safety Net

Progress Notes

Common in allied health, inpatient or multi-session contexts:

  • Daily Update

  • Interventions

  • Outcomes

GP Consultation Summary

Formatted for inclusion in referral letters or handovers:

  • Presenting Complaint

  • History of Presenting Illness

  • Past Medical History

  • Medications / Allergies

  • Investigations / Diagnosis

  • Management Plan

Note: You can switch between formats at any time during the consult.

 

✏️ Editing Notes

  • All note content is generated from the transcript or dictation

  • You can freely edit each field — just click and type

  • Notes will not be overwritten once edited manually

  • Edits are preserved even after updates to the patient page or dictation

 

📋 Copying Notes

  • Click the Copy Notes button to copy the full note

  • Alternatively, copy sections (e.g. just the Plan) using the clipboard icon beside each block

  • Pasting into your PMS or letter template will maintain formatting

This ensures a smooth copy-paste experience whether you're using Best Practice, MedicalDirector, Medtech, Genie, or other systems.

🔄 Linked to Context & Dictation

The notes are dynamically generated using:

  • The original transcript or post-consult Smart Dictation

  • Patient Context (e.g. current medications, problems)

  • AI Structuring and formatting rules based on the selected note type

If you update the consultation using Smart Dictation, Echo-Health.ai will reprocess the notes unless they've been manually edited.
