How do Medtech and Echo-Health integrate?

Echo-Health.ai offers seamless integration with Medtech Evolution via the ALEX® API platform. This integration allows secure, real-time access to patient and provider data for use in AI-generated documentation, reminders, and communication workflows.

✅ Who Can Integrate?

  • Clinics using Medtech Evolution in New Zealand

  • Users with administrative permissions to authorise third-party access

Note: Integration is optional. Echo-Health.ai works independently of PMS platforms but delivers enhanced functionality with ALEX.

  • Real-time data access to retrieve patient demographics, NHI, and consult history

  • Auto-fill functionality for letters, referrals, and SOAP notes

  • Verification of patient action items (e.g. checking if pathology was completed)

  • Improved compliance and documentation accuracy


⚙️ How to Set Up Integration

  1. During sign-up, toggle "Enable Integration Settings".

  2. Select "Medtech" as your partner.

  3. Review and agree to the Consent Agreement for EchoHealth Hub Access:

    • States the purpose, limited data access, and adherence to ALEX’s Code of Conduct

  4. Click "I Agree" to authorise integration.


🔐 What Data Is Accessed?

Echo-Health.ai only pulls patient information at the time of need, and only for the purpose of completing that specific consultation:

  • Patient Name, NHI, Date of Birth

  • Address, contact number

  • PMS-linked file number or record ID

No data is accessed in bulk. All access is tracked, encrypted, and used only during active sessions.


📅 Use Cases in Workflow

  • Consult Start: Pre-fill patient demographics from Medtech

  • Post Consult: Confirm if a test was completed or referral booked

  • SMS Messaging: Attach appointment or reminder information validated against PMS

  • Daily Notes Integration: Echo-Health.ai writes structured summaries directly into Medtech’s Daily Notes section

  • Ask AI Integration: Edits made via Ask AI (e.g. clarification or expansion) can be written back into the Subjective section

  • Template Output: Content created using templates (e.g. SOAP, GP Summary) is saved back into the Outbox, preserving structure and audit trail


🚫 Disconnecting Access

You can revoke access to Echo-Health.ai at any time:

  • Go to your ALEX management portal

  • Remove Echo-Health.ai as an authorised app

  • Notify our support team if you wish to delete integration history
